A Tribute to Trinh Cong Son

Trinh Cong Son's popularity grew when his anthems to peace swept across Viet Nam during the war. Although his music was banned by both North and South Viet Nam, bootleg copies of his songs were widely distributed. There are stories of finding tapes of Trinh Cong Son's music on the bodies on dead soldiers on the Ho Chi Minh Trail. This album comes from the heart of one musician interpreting another. To hear Tinh's translations of Trinh Cong Son's lyrics into English is an experience one won't soon forget.

This album is a double disc: The first disc is sung in Vietnamese and the second is overlaid with the English translation of Trinh Cong Son's moving lyrics.

Christmas Night

Tinh's original title for this album was "Christmas in the Country." He later changed it to "Christmas Night". Basically what Tinh wants to do is to take the listeners back to a time where life was innocent and simple; when Christmas means more than just a trip to the shopping mall. Tinh's solo guitar renditions of these timeless Christmas songs share the beauty of Christmas Night when Christ was born.
